The Origins of Strange Sun
My idea for Strange Sun began in October of 2007. I wrote it down in a composition book, then I began writing some outlines and drawing some rough sketches of the world and the characters. I had a pretty clear idea of what the genre was going to be, where the setting was going to take place, and what kind of protagonist I was going to create. Slowly the story began to develop and my notebooks began to fill up. After ten years of working off and on, and dedication, I was able to complete it.
Like many stories, Strange Sun takes place in a fictional world. And like those epic tales, there are parallels that are used to identify the issues that affect our current world. This story was mainly inspired by Native Americans, islanders, and various indigenous cultures from around the world. I’m very fascinated with history and why humans do what they do.
My goal is to develop this story into an animation and a live action film. More parts will be added to the story as I have more story to tell. I’m very excited about this project and I’m enjoying the journey in creating it. A very special thanks to David E.
